If you came here expecting me to brag about how I make millions of dollars working from home, live in a penthouse and drive a Bugatti, you’re going to be very disappointed. There are enough fake business gurus out there and I don’t intend to be one of them. I’m just an average guy with a passion for business, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to support my family comfortably by doing what I love and working as a full-time entrepreneur.
That is exactly what sets me apart from other online “gurus” and self-proclaimed “business experts”. My income from my primary businesses is what pays my bills. NOT income from online courses, membership subscriptions, or e-book sales. You’ll find a ton of people on social media these days claiming to be millionaires and promising to teach you how to build your business credit and make millions overnight with some played out strategy like dropshipping, but the fact is that most of these people are only really successful at selling dreams. Their business is selling content, not whatever strategy they’re marketing to you.
My goal isn’t to sell you an e-book or an online course. I’m not going to make you a bunch of empty promises or try to trick you into thinking you can quit your job in 6 months and go sip umbrella drinks on a beach somewhere in the Carribean. The reality is that building successful small businesses is hard, and 90% of small businesses in the U.S. fail within 5 years. My goal is to make the early stages of your journey into entrepreneurship a little easier by sharing some of the knowledge I’ve been able to gain through nearly 10 years of hands on experience and trial and error.
My Background
I got my start in business by helping to build Motor City Center for Hope, an award winning local behavioral health agency. The doors opened at Motor City Center for Hope in 2015, and for the first couple years all I did was help out around the office, filing papers and greeting clients as needed. During this time I was able to learn the ropes of operating a business and eventually, as our business grew, I took on more responsibilities.
By 2018 I was directing our standalone MDHHS sponsored Maternal Infant Health Program. During this time I was able to greatly expand my skill set and gain invaluable leadership experience. By 2019 I was overseeing all back end operations of the entire organization. Since 2019 our business has grown more than 300%, even despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re currently on track to have our first 7 figure year in 2023.
During my time with Motor City Center for Hope I’ve had my hands in every single aspect of the business at one point or another, from filing papers, mopping floors and scrubbing toilets, to designing our company 401k plan and overseeing expansions into new territories. I’ve done it all, and in the past 7 years I’ve seen our small business grow from a team of 4 working out of a single conference room to a team of roughly 30 operating in 3 separate locations across Metro Detroit.
I founded Michigan Business Coach, LLC as a way to pursue my passion for all things business by helping aspiring entrepreneurs in my community launch and run successful businesses. As I stated previously, my goal isn’t to sell you an e-book or a monthly membership. My goal is simply to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years from hands on trial and error.
