Overview And Experience

My passion is for helping young entrepreneurs and small businesses during their initial start-up and growth phases. I’m confident that I can be a valuable asset to your project, and by the time you outgrow my services, you’ll likely be in a financial position where hiring a full time “numbers guy” is feasible and makes sense for you. My goal isn’t to stick with you forever, my goal is just to help your business reach the next phase in it’s life.
Kevin Fowler
Besides being an accounting major, most of my real world experience comes from my role as Chief Operating Officer at Motor City Center for Hope, LLC.
In this role I am responsible for overseeing all functions of accounting for the business. At our current size, this means I am responsible for inflows and outflows of more than $100,000 per month. I am also responsible for preparing budgets, forecasts, dashboards, and models, as well as monitoring our financial performance, analyzing our financial data, and making strategic financial decisions on behalf of the organization. For lack of a better explanation, I fulfill the role of both CFO and COO for the organization, and under my direct leadership revenues have grown nearly 400% since 2019.
If I had to choose a bookkeeping niche, I’d say mine would be working with businesses in the healthcare industry, as I’m most familiar with the healthcare revenue cycle and I have plenty of experience dealing with EHRs and PHI, however, I’m more than qualified to handle bookkeeping for other types of businesses.
Retail, e-commerce, manufacturing and other product/inventory heavy businesses are not my ideal clients, but I’m confident in my ability to provide a high quality service for retail operations generating under $500,000 in annual revenue.

You ask, we answer
Please don’t hesitate to drop us a note if you have any additional questions!
After the initial consultation and once we’ve worked out an agreement, I’ll get to work on the set-up and any back work that needs to be done. From there, we’ll take it day by day communicating frequently via phone and email.
We’ll do our best to set up automations for most things, but for other things such as paper invoices, paper quotes, physical receipts, etc. I’ll set up a shared cloud drive for you to drop the documents into for me to process. If I have questions or need clarification on anything, I’ll give you a call or shoot you an email, and you can feel free to do the same.
Together, we’ll build your books and make sure your business stays in peak financial health.
Its easier and simpler if you do grant me at least view-only access (I don’t need signatory permissions unless you want me to make transactions on your behalf), however, I can work without access. Just be advised that it will likely require more of a time investment, and I do bill by the hour.
Ideally I would ask that you have P&L statements for the past three months, a current balance sheet, and any payroll records (if you currently have employees) ready for the initial consultation. But if you’re just getting started and don’t have all of that yet, don’t worry. I can work with much less!
My standard rate is $35.00 per hour, and I charge a one time set-up fee based on the amount of work that needs to be done to get you up and running. However, clients who have purchased our Executive LLC formation package can lock in a discounted rate of $20.00 per hour with no set-up fee. I also frequently offer discounts as part of referral promotions.
Monthly cost will vary depending on the size and complexity of your business, but for simple operations you can most likely expect to pay about $350 for the set-up and first month, and anywhere between $100 and $200 per month after.
Security is a top priority for us. We use the 3-2-1 strategy to ensure client data is sufficiently backed up in the event of any hardware or software failures. Client data is always triple saved, and we maintain at least two local backups stored on a RAID 1 array and one offsite backup stored using cloud technology at all times.
In other words, our computers could fail, we could lose an entire drive in the RAID array, and our cloud software could be hit by a cyberattack all at the same time, and your data would still be secured.
